Might as well ask when should I take a dump as it's only a question you can answer. Depends on if your neighbours will tolerate it. How much it will drone on the motorway. And about a thousand other reasons.

I would get loud as it adds 24bhp because the loudness pushes you like a turbo jet plane

On a 1.4, quiet.
If its loud it wont be a good kind of loud.
if it's just your centre section that needs repairing then you won't need to buy a loud backbox too..
