Hi one and all.
Just wondered if anyone knows, or have had simular problems trying to prime fuel system after replacing fuel lifter pump, I'll start from the beginning ie last week. On two ocassions after switching ignition on there was no noise you get when the pump is priming, eventually went completely, anyhow after investigation (DIAGNOSTICS) was told fuel pump had its life, also a loose wiring fault in the multi function display which comfirmed my thoughts of why my display recently started to go into economy mode when all electrics had been switched off. Anyhow decided to throw in a scrappers fuel pump so i then could get the electrics sorted. Took me ages to get the new pump priming and eventually started (2-3 in total) running sweet then cut out.
I'm at a point where the pump is not priming again(no priming noise) any thoughts would be appreciated.

If you take the pipes off before the fuel filter, and turn the ignition on to see if there is diesel coming thru.

If it isn't, try and suck it thru to make sure the pipes aren't blocked.

Run 12v direct to the pump to see if it works

Thanks for that lee i'll go and try it shortly.
The senders working fine, (fuel gage ok) you have 2 small 2 large prongs in the connector, i presume 2 of the small ones are earths 2 large ones positives, am i correct (not good with electrics) obviously you disconnect car battery, then which prong do you put the positive to, the earth i presume to car body.

earth will be yellow and green.

Cant remember what the positive is.

Send the voltage to the connector, not down the wires.
