can i just get away with replacing the bearings or have i got to go for the full mount?

as you can see it can mean many precious pennies saved.

seems to just be making some unhealthy noises at low speeds. doesnts affect handling or anything. but i guess u cant really tell until u take it all off and have a look.

looks to me the top mount rubber itself.

as the bearing does affect handling

i have a 51 plate gti only got 40k on it would mine need doing at some point and would it help with the handling not that i have noticed anything wrong with it. i have no idea when it comes to all the suspension stuff and that. lol

Yes, the smaller part is your bearing,under that the upper spring seat.The rubber part is your upper mount in plate.

I've used the same kit on my car.Well the cc one Laughing

So I'm guessing that it's a case of replace the bearing in the spring seat. Then placing the upper mount plate onto. As I'm guessing those 3 bolts are the ones I can see under the bonnet. And in this picture it's upside down.
