my car had just been through & passed an MOT and had the stepping out problem.

could be anything related to the back end = time to get it in a garage.

Ive never had the back end step out on my 206, then again its running on Michelin Pilot rubber.

The banging noise from the rear end on the OP's car when hitting a pot hole / bumps points to something not right / worn on the rear suspension BUT the MOT test should have picked that up.

Check the anti roll bar bolts, they snapped on a mates 206

Causing it to oversteer/bounce everywhere

Thanks to you all
1st im taking it back to MOT garage, as from what i think your all are saying something should have flagged up at the MOT, unless its the Axle.

Never done forums before , and i am going away (to hopefully sort 206) feeling part of a team.
Again Cheers

If people knew more about your location they can sometimes be even more helpful Smile
