Trying to get the front grille panel off with no success. Haynes Manual says to remove screws and "unclip from each end" but we cannot get plastic clips to budge. Don't want to lever too hard and crack the paint, or worse still the trim itself. Is there a knack to it? Any tips please?

Thanks Confused

Buy 4 new plastic clips from your local Peugeot / Citroen main dealer BEFORE you remove the grill as they will most likely break Wink

Peugeot / Citroen part number 6995 X3 hog ring - a whopping 25 pence each.

If im thinking of the right ones, I used a screwdriver bit & turned it with a spanner.

Thanks for replies - off out to have another go. Got a Peugeot dealer 10 minutes away if we need new clips this afternoon!

Wish us luck!

Remember the grill is in 2 parts.

The black slotted upper bit needs to be unclipped from slam panel & also the lower grill first, then you can get at the middle securing screw Wink

I find that pushing in a bit just under the middle of the headlight, makes the gap at the end bigger and you can get your finger tips in and then you can just pull.

First time I did it, I broke clips, have done it this way a few more times and they didn't break.

Being the picky sort - I really hate it when people say this. Yes we all know what it looks like - but we all want to see the condition that yours is in!

The original black plastic clips seem to break everytime - the newer white plastic clips seem to be indestructible Laughing

I agree, they just bend out of shape with enough force, they dont seem to break. As said above, get something in the gap at each end and just force it off, there is two little clips on each side holding it in place. If they break just replace them.

Please Dont take any of my posts as written fact. They are simply my opinion and although to the best of my knowledge true, the information within them may well be incorrect.

Any work you undertake as a result of my posts is done so at your own risk Smile

Loads on ebay! Wink

When you take the gille off a few times, the little lugs on teh clips get pulled out of shape and don't go back into the holes in the wing tab. So as MrBSI suggests, I just keep a few in the garage drawer in case!

Down to just the 1.4 HDi. Cayman Green 2.0i CC sold.
