how do i see what year is my 206 manufactured in? i look at the paper work the year stated and the year stamped on the metal plate above the ecu are different.
my real question is, the date on that metal plate in the engine bay with the vin number and all that. what does that date represent?

The plate on the engine would have been made when the engine was made, put your vin into this:http://www.autocalculator.org/VIN/Peugeot-VIN-Decoder.aspx
I havent tried mine yet but will do later. Your ecu could have been replaced if it's got different numbers on it I think?

You can also look on the back of the PPT30 unit. That has a date on the back of it.

No, thats just a date of registration.
The car could be sat on the docks for months before it is sent to the dealership, then they might keep it another few weeks in the showroom before someone buys it and it gets registered.
