The new engine is finally finished with a few alterations to the original plan.
1. Gas flowed head with 5 angle valve seats, uprated valve springs and welded up EGR port.
2 Port matched manifold with modifications to fit the 45mm T/B`s and improve air velocity.
3. Forged "H" section steel conrods and HC forged Wossner 12.5:1CR pistons.
4.Polished crankshaft and lightened flywheel all fully balanced.
5. Heavy duty race spec bearings.
6. Uprated oil pump.

The engine was dummy built to check the CR and it sits nicely at 12.2:1. The whole engine is now just over a full rally spec and the head has been opened up considerably with full knife edging in the ports. and Charlie from CTM Performance Engineering who has done all the work thinks it will be a monster engine.
As for the power figures, he has made a prediction...... but I cant tell you what that is or it will spoil the surprise when it comes off the rollers Twisted Evil

You still have time to get your quesses in before the RR session Wink

Can you give any detail or brand for that? And is your pistons 2 ring ?

And my guess about RR. If you still in standart cams i think 205 hp with a good cam you will see 225 hp Smile

The end shells are made by Mahle but ACL are the same quality
The pistons are 3 ring

The oil pump has an uprated relief spring fitted which is available through CTM Performance Engineering

The attention to detail is what makes all the other "would be" tuners look like ameteurs. He has even changed the manifold to T/B studs as he felt they were not long enough.

Has the block been painted? I always wonder if shot blasting an engine prior to strip down would finish it off like new.

Even the bottom pulley looks nice. Bolts look new too. I want a new pulley as there is a bit of corrosion on mine. £55 for a new one...

Is your rear rocker cover breather connected to anything? I see the later EW engines with the tall rocker covers have a breather on the inlet cam cover too. Any rally or touring car EW engine seem to have a breather on the front cover. Do you think having one would be an advantage?
