Careful buying replacement axles or trying to replace the bearings in yours as the shaft that the axle 'bushes' (actually bearings) fits on is usually damaged when the old bearing fails. So even if you put new bearings on it they will fail pretty quickly |
If you see any markings / imprints on the shaft from the needle rollers then dont reasembly as those nice new bearings wont last very long.

Does anyone know if u have to disconnect the brake pipes to get the rear axle out i looked underneath today and the cables ran to the caliper in fron of the axle itself so i shouldnt need to take out cables just the exhaust ? And how heavy is ure typical rear axle ?

you have to disconnect the brake pipe of couse....
and the handbrake cable too.
you know the brake pipe is connect to the (calipers->arm->axle) and to the front brake servo?
think the axle itself is roughly 20 kg and each arm+brake disc+caliper+hub is around 10-15 kg?

AH ok so a 40kg lump roughly, how hard is it to plug the brakes up and what did u use ? The handbrake cable looks easy to loosen. Maybe i should jack support the axle and lower...

don't think the brake hose is just plugged in?
the metal fare brake hose ( the end which connected to the rear calipers) should be fixed by a hex nut. (somthing between 11mm and 13mm)
