going down for a test drive in the next couple of days and i consider myself quite lucky when it comes to buying a used car. i would normally test drive accelerating on all gears and then down shifting to each gear to see how the clutch and gearbox are. i drive over small bumps to pick up the clunking sound that comes with worn wishbones. hear for unusual sounds etc.

im more concerned with the mechanics, are there other things or ways to best test how the car is. how to look out or what to hear out for? really dont wish to get a lemon since im forking out good money for a gti180. im ok with wear and tear for some parts like brakes and all that. really more concerned with the engine, hmm suspension or anything that would cost an arm and leg to fix.

thanks for reading Laughing

Seeing as the OP is in Australia & us in the UK dont have a clue what sort of people down under inspect cars, ask the seller if they would agree to the local Peugeot main dealer checking the car over.

An hours labour charge could be money well spent.
