Yeah that's the only good thing I can think about there's some nice carbon parts and stuff floating around, annoys me how most of the for sale threads are just wall of texts that you can't read, have no pictures and some dont even have prices..

Been a while but bought some stuff and been working on it a fair bit. Firstly like the sunroof I removed the ariel and blanked it up.

Took a trip down to Sutton Coldfield to meet a guy from Sax P who I ended up buying a few things off.

Got a full manifold back supersprint race exhaust with a 2" tip really love it. Was so lucky seeing as I had been looking for a system for a month or so and only found one or two suitable enough with a small enough tip and then he had one in his garage I didn't even know about.

Ended up having to take the manifold off as the bolts collecting the centre section to it were well and truely ruined.

Made a quick release bumper with some bonnet pins. Quite good seeing as half the bolts sheered when removing the bumper anyway.

Got on with painting the whole interior black, this has taken weeks but it's finally done will get some pictures later when all the paper and tape has been removed.

Also got some home made door inserts off the guy. Just some card covered in fabric but it's all I need at least it covers up the window motors.

That's it for now but at least stuff can start going back in. Except getting some sensors to work and putting everything back it's just suspension and brakes left I think.

Big day yesterday, seeing light and the end of the tunnel now Very Happy

R888s came, fitted the rear tow strap and got everything back in. Will let pictures do the talking although there's still a hell of a lot to do.

Guages need fitting next, main problem I'm having is the battery absolutely refuses to be relocated. If I run extra cable to the boot (tried really thick cable) then it sometimes wants to start and sometimes doesn't the only stable way to do it is to have it in the engine bay which it won't fit in anymore.

Also needs raising at the back 20-30mm

How big / powerful is the battery?

Earth lead straight on to chassis as near as possible next to battery.

Nice thick suitable cable down to the starter & under bonnet fuse box, I would be tempted to fit a suitable fuse as near as possible to the battery in case this main cable shorts out.

If BMC could manage it with the Mini all those years ago & BMW, Volvo & Mercedes still fit the battery in the boot now, it cant be that hard to get it working on Saxo Wink

I've tried several but the best I've used was this one reviews.halfords.com/4...eviews.htm (brand new)

Earth lead is only around 20cm long and the power cable is 2awg. Surely buying any thicker would just be a waste?

I also have a 150 amp ANL fuse located right next to the battery

The thing that makes it most annoying is that it's never 100% doesn't work or 100% works. One day it will start fine and the next it won't and I need to run the battery from the engine bay again. Sometimes it doesn't work so I take the fuse out of the circuit and it works and visa verca.. is so random I can't make sense of it. The only thing that I understand though even if it's very vague is that running it from the engine bay = no problems and using extended cable = lots of problems.

I'm sure it's possible though, my friend has done it to his with much much thinner cable and he has absolutely 0 problems.

Do you remember what cable you were using shell? I'm more than happy to spend some cash on some thicker better quality cable but it's going to cost the best part of 50 quid really and if that doesn't even solve the problem it would be a complete waste. I don't have any anyone I could borrow some off to test either.

Yeah I did a lot of research into what cable / fuses to use so it's annoying when it doesn't work. I can remove the fuse and the problem still occurs, or a different problem but it rarely starts and runs when with a relocated battery.

Not so much recently, spent a lot of time and money on it during the summer and aiming to get it ready for jan / feb next year.

Just needs work putting into it now

Better battery cable
Torsion bars adjusted
ARB bolts re tapped
Rust treated and undersealed
Fix rev counter
Secure temperature sensor into the block
Wheel bearing re done

Have a nice Brian James trailer for it as well, going to get a fireproof suit and then we are good to go Wink

Should be booking a track day with my mates corsa red top around the start of next season if anyone wants to join

looks good so far.

but it looks like your cage mounts have been welded over the rear axle mounts?
if your bearings go in the trailing arms how will you change it?
