Hi guys for some reason my 2004 Gti 180 is showing the oil level on 1 bar when you first put the keys in on the mileage display, I have topped up and checked the dip-stick, it's nearly full but still showing the oil level as low? Any advice as to what I can do? Cheers

yeah never take the word of the reader in the car i found its s**t just always check on the dipstick and you cant go wrong

but make sure its been sat on level; ground before you check and draw it once wipe and put it in then draw it again and check

the electronic reader inside is on a sensor and when left on a slope will show more full or empty than it really is Wink

although the 180 does actually use oil for some strange reason Confused

Yeah the car is on a level car park outside work, the dip-stick was pretty much showing it on the top level so pretty much full, it just annoys me that it's showing that it's low when it's not, and your right the 180 uses alot more oil than my Gti 138 did

I agree mate, it's more of an annoyance than anything, I tend to check the car over quite regular anyway

You might find a BSI software update will cure the 180's oil level sensor Wink

Cool

Go in with him & see if there's any BSI configuration settings you would like tweaking at the same time Wink
