so im moving off at gear 1 and when i want to clutch in to move up to the 2nd gear i get this judder or jerk from the engine. its hard to describe but it makes this 'gah-ah' sound when clutching in and the car would have this jolt / jerk / judder. its only when going from 1 - 2 and it comes when i depress the clutch.
2-5 no problems. now because of this weirdness i have nightmares when the lights turn red and i have to stop. doesnt happen all the time, but significantly enough to irritate me. i believe my clutch is fairly good to go because the clutch pedal is really quite stiff and hard.
whats up with the judder? clutch not disengaging cleanly?
thanks for reading

Might be your engine mounts maybe the gear box mount? Its smooth through all the other gears because 1st to 2nd is the harshest change as the cars just getting going. If its not a mount then its the clutch hence clutch judder.

I had a similar judder wich also caused my engine to rev more than usual..it was my coilpack that was breaking so could be that

It could be alot of things! Does your gear stick feel like its moving on its own when you go to pull off?

sounds to me like normal 180 clutch judder fault.
clutch should be nice and light not heavy, mine was the same when i got it judderd and was heavy put new LUK kit in and its as light and smooth as you could wish for now.
when i changed it the plate had loads of "meat" left on it but the thrust bearing was trying to eat its way through the pressure plate.

could be a possible flywheel problem, i dont know if the 180 have a dual mass tho.
