Does anyone know if it is possible to enable/add external temperature read out on a model without this option?
My car is a 2008 1.4 5 door Look model which I have just aquired and I was very suprised to find it does not seem to have any means of showing the external temp. It has the single line display which shows the radio information and time, but when I press the RH button next to the display all that happens is it changes to show the date if the radio is on.

Temp sensor will live in the passenger side door mirror & it needs 2 wires to operate.
You will most likely also need to tweak the BSI configuration set up & you need Peugeot Planet software / diganostic kit to do that.
Gently pop the triangle interior trim panel of on the passenger door that covers the mirror screws to see if there is a unused connector plug behind it.
Would also be the ideal time to upgrade to the 3 line PPT 40 display

Yeah you do need the settings changed in the BSI.
Like said above, might as well get the 3 line and get the trip function enabled at the same time

Thanks to you both for the information. Sounds a bit complicated for me to mess about with the software (unless you know different?) I wouldn,t know where to start. Also to enable the trip computer wouldn't I need new stalks with the push on the end function?
Thanks again.

Yeah if you don't have the end button on the stalks you would need to get another Com2000 unit, which is where things start to get too expensive just to have a MPG reading on your clock
Edit: I'm not quite sure if you need it for the temp though

temp doesn't need the button as my old 206 didn't have the button

Thanks for all the info.
So back to basics, if all I want is outside temp readout, I need the sensor with connector, fit it into the passenger mirror housing and connect to a hopefully already present 2 pin block, then to make it all work the onboard computer needs some in put from presumably a Peugeot service centre?

Basically yes IF the wires are there in the passenger door loom.
