Hard to describe but the standard radio/cd plays up: cd refuses to play, won't eject, turn it on manually then off it won't come back on except after switching on ignition. Sometimes you have to stop the car, switch off and back on just to eject the CD! Not always convenient on the motorway, etc.

Think its the RD1 model.

Anyway, I've already got hold of a second one, and this pretty much does the same! so unless it was designed this way, it might be a wiring issue.

Thinking it could be the remote stalk (non-Mux, thin round one), got hold of a 2nd hand one. Now I find there are two types! The one in the car has only two wires and a squarish green connector. The one I bought has 5 wires and a flat green connector .. just my luck! So can't try just swapping that out now.

Anyone had these problems on theirs? Want to try and keep it going for a bit longer as it makes life easier, plus it's secure with the code, but we are contemplating just fitting a new non-Pug unit, etc.

You have checked both fuses for the radio in the passenger cabin fuse box?

OK checked both fuses and all ok ...

Odd fuse box though. Fuses 23 & 24 have two positions: 23 and 23b and 24 and 24b ... ours are in 23b and 24b. Trust the French also to print the middle sections up-side down in the handbook! (Book shows fuse 1 in bottom right, and in car it's top left!)

Nothing odd there, thats standard PSA fusebox design for a non multiplexed car.

Move the fuse in question to switch between ignition controlled live OR permanently live for radio & cigarette lighter.

Smart these French ain't they Wink

Damn clever .. shame it didn't expend to lots of other things like leaving enough space between inner wing and engine to make cam changes easier (but then our Clio DCi is even tighter!)
