i had recently madea post that got no replies... cry.. i have an issue with my gear box where the imput shaft has excessive play which cause the car to grown when decellerating...

My cars a 1.1 (54) and i would like to be clear on my option as ive just had the clutch replaced and dont want my box to explode and damage the new clutch Sad so please help guys!!

most likely the bearing is damaged then.

either get it rebuild or get a second hand box

whats cheaper and do i have to get a 1.1 box as i noticed most 1.1 box's are crap..

I am in the same boat mate. Everyone's gearbox seems to be going atm. I am looking at a 106 rallye or 106 XSI box a they have shorter ratios but trying to get solid evidence that they will fit.

yeah i see where your coming from i think the 1.1 would benefit from a different ratio seems to be 3rd then over drive please keep me posted if you find out might look into a custom ratio/recon for the current box i got :S ?

well ive been told its around 400 to recon a box 768.95 for a new one 80-280 for a used box
