I took my Peugeot 206 (2004 Diesel SE model) in for it's MOT on Thursday, as part of the MOT I needed the Anti-roll bar links replaced. After having them done, driving back from the garage my car is vibrating intensely as I reach 40MPH, it gets worse up to 45MPH and by 50MPH it's gone.

I took the car back to the garage, they rebalanced the wheels just in case they had knocked one of the weights off. Once rebalanced the car now 'drifts' at random. There is no pull on the steering and the car continues fine in a straight line but at random a slight turn of the wheel can result in the car drifting sharply to the right.

I jacked the car up at home just to have a look around the wheel, I had no clue what I was looking for but on rotating the right wheel (off side) (by hand) just to check for noise my brother spotted that the whole engine moves side to side in time with the turning of the wheel, this doesn't happen when rotating the left wheel? I'm not sure if this is normal for the 206, I've never rotated the wheel while also looking at the engine before!? but it seems kind of strange. I would say the engine moves by about an inch from side to side as the wheel spins.

I've rocked the wheels to do a check for any noise or anything that seems wrong but there is no noise or anything that stands out apart from the movement of the engine.

Any suggestions on what this could be or even if someone could confirm that their 206 does or doesn't move in time with the right hand (off side) wheel turning would be great.

I'm taking the car back to the garage tomorrow but to be honest they didn't seem to know where to start after re-balancing the wheels.
