Hi.
My 51 reg 1.4lx petrol failed on emissions today. (69000 miles on clock)
First it failed on the two fast idles at 0.423%CO, but passed natural idle at 0.284%.
We then read all the fault codes (It had various injector faults coil pack ) a nd reset it. Drove for 2 miles, then re tried. This is when its odd.
It ten passed on the fast idle at 0.042% CO, but FAILED on the idle at 0.6%.
It was idling nice then too.
I've ordered two new lambdas sensors, and will add some injector cleaner as garage thinks these may fix issue. If that doesn't work he suggested changing cat next.
Anyone got anything on this please??
I'm a bit peeved as rest of mot ok.

Hi lee.
only 5k ago.
checked plugs recently and air filter looks ok - not too dirty (but will change now to make sure)
Not sure why a service would reverse the idle speed results though?!?
I know the pug is weird electronically, but this.??.

PASSED MOT TODAY! - JUST!!!
replaced both lambda sensors, ran on 1/3 tank with Forte additive for 150 miles, changed oil & filter and Air filter.
Now gave fast idles of 0.054 % CO on fast idle (Limit 0.300%), and Slow idle of 0.403% (Limit 0.500%). HCs 9 (Limit 200).
only just scraped through on Lamba - failed 1st test as gave 1.035 (Limit is between 0.970 & 1.030). 2nd try gave 1.030.
Watching the Sun computer was like waiting for apollo 13 to radio in on re-entry (Well, almost).
I think this high lambda reading maybe accounted for by the very slight misfire (Too strong a word as this is very weak misfire just a very slight unevenness on tick-over).
My MOT Tester said not to worry - "all the 206s do this, and be thankful its the dual lambda sensor car, as the early one sensor types are a sod!!!"
Hope this post helps someone else with similar issues.
PS: Is there a simple way to rest the codes in the SCU without having to do through a diagnostic machine??? (My old volvo could be done by pulling the fuse)
cheers
