Hi Guy's, Been lurking on here for a while and need some help. I have a 2002 (51) 206 1.4 Auto and recently the temp gauge sometimes fly's to the red, the stop light flashes for a while and then comes back down. I believe that it might be the coolant sensor but have no idea where it is located. Any help would be welcomed. thanks

at a guess i would say it would be on the thermostat housing

should be on the passenger side of the engine bay, a green plug with wires going into it

Could be, had the same problem and went away when i changed the sensor

oo oo oo oo i recently had this problem, i replaced the coolant sensor and it still did it, in the end what it was was that the wires & relay to the fan had corroded and the fan wasn't kicking in, i replaced them and made it work and it's not done it since. the coolant sensor was the most expensive bit :/
