i have just been given a 1.1 2002 206 with bottom end damage, i also have a 2000 saxo vtr "90bhp" with big rear end damage.
the motors look simular, is this going to be a straight forward transplant?
continue using 1.1 running gear, shafts, box ect..
VTR
206
or will the 1.6 block/head run on the 1.1 inlet/ecu?
thanks, steve

The 206 comes with that engine anyway but don't forget you will need a ECU and BSI off a 1.6 206 and I think the ECU loom is different too.

is there no chance of wiring the VTR loom/ecu in?
somebody said if the 206 is multi-plex, i will have no chance of this conversion? is this a true story..
also erm, am looking to spend practicly nothing on this if possable, i have had a rough 3 months with cars, RS172 i crashed after spending 5k on it, then i bought a RS182 cup and had the dephaser pully done and the cambelt snapped 2 days later, the garage basicly told me to f-off.. lost 4k here.. now somebody went into the back of my saxo and drove off on me.. i really dont want to spend anymore money on cars, hardwork all this drivening business..
is there no chance the 1.6 head/block will run off the 1.1 inlet/ecu? am not after performance, just a cheap option

Doesnt the early 206 1.6 XS share the same engine as the VTR? Im guessing an ecu from that would work, just make sure you dont get the later XSI unit.

Its p**s easy to do the swap
BUT you will require a 1.6 ECU to manage the engine correctly, that is the main problem as they never did a 1.6 8v multiplex AFAIK just the 16v version
This ECU may work but may not, unknown area tbh
Anymore info needed?

He had some super rare 206 with that BS multi complex system in it though. Could be a different ball game with that

I thought of trying this same conversion but think its more hassle than its gains tbh, think if you have the 3 plug ecu in both cars then you need to have the BSI re-configured to match the ECU from the vtr, Im sure your best option would be strike up a deal with a breaker trade the vtr for a pug 1.1 engine ,less hassle for you at the end of the day.

Give it a bash, just basically use the saxo block and head, then fit the saxo 1600 injectors and i recon it wont be too far off useable...
When you start needing to mess with ECUs (saxo will be older single plug and 206 3 plug) and looms, BSIs etc it becomes a whole different ball game!
The ecu will work the injectors as it would the 1100 and bigger injectors are needed to fill the bigger engine, air looks after itself and then the lambda should make any small adjustments to keep it there or there abouts..

If the engine wiring harness is the same then would it be possible to just get the 1.1 ecu reflashed with a 1.6 map?
Be easier to just chuck another TU1 lump in the 206 & sell it then break the Saxo for parts.
If you want a 1.6 206 go get yourself an XSI.
