I personally like your car, and with the problems fixed I think you could get a bit for it. Not this side of Christmas.

if your definitely sure you want a 180, why dont you just plump and get a loan? use your money now to fix your gti then use the money from selling your gti once fixed to pay a big load off your loan? unless your dead against a loan that is?

GTI 180's have started falling in to the wrong hands these days with there bargain basement prices.

Your GTI isnt got drop much more value due to its old age, fix it, run it in to the ground & save your £ for something better then a 206.

I agree MrBSI, the 180's going for around 2k are mostly dogs, well the ones that i come accross whilst searching for mine were. I still think you need 2.5k minimum to get a decent example. The problems you have listed are not major so id just fix each one when you have the money. Like people have said its best to hold onto it until after xmas now and if you dont have the extra cash to put it yet its pointless selling it anyway.

I would be asking £1500 with the leak, idle and abs problem sorted or £1200 as it is.

Andy i will be looking at anything between £2k and £2.5k maybe £2.8k at a push

I think your car is nicer than a standard 180 - if you are after 180hp it wouldn't be too difficult on your current engine Razz

You could sell your GTi and end up with an absolute dog of a 180 reliability wise

The engine is just under 86k milage so if i did want to tune it i would have to either recondition it or find an engine with lower milage
