Hi,

5 door hatchback 1.4HDI
The original door mirror has 7 wires from an Orange rectangular connector.

The replacement that I have ordered has only 5 wires with similar orange connector.

Any idea what the missing wires are used for?
The car is year 2003+ model.
Thank you

Are you're original mirrors perhaps heated?

You could probe the 2 'missing' wires (in the car side connector) with a multimeter and see if you get 12V across them when you turn on the rear demister...

I think that the 2 brown wires of the 5 are for the heaters, but could the missing 2 wires be for outside temperature sensor?
Thank you
regards

I would have to suggest they are the heating wires, probably the replacement mirror is off a lower spec model?

Hi Guys,
Thank you all for the inputs.
I fitted the mirror this morning. The 2 missing black wires are for the outside temperature sensor.
Everything now works apart from the outside temperature sensor.
