Anyway hopefully someone else on here has had this probably, car info 1st:

Peugeot 206 1.1 's' 04 plate (bought in 2005) done roughly 50k miles

i probably drive the car once every 3 or so weeks anway and after being parked up for 2 weeks went to start the car and straight away the ABS light came on tried to drive the car and the stop light kept on flashing aswell as the handbrake light being on when the handbrake is up
The milometer doesnt work so have no idea how fast im going lol, and all this was about 4 weeks ago now
Any ideas??, i havent had a chance to meet up with my mate to connect it to a diagnostic machine yet

And today tried to start the car and it wouldnt so did a jump start and 5 mins after disconnecting still doesnt start gotta check the alternator next

Agreed, if the battery is playing up, all different lights on the dash will start acting up!

so people the problems might have been caused by a dodgy battery but the battery would not show any symptoms until a few weeks later?
Also the battery is new anyway, i just fitted it in August lol, its a bosch bought from GSF

1) Check the earth straps from battery to chassis.

2) Check the battery voltage with a multi-meter with engine running and engine off.
If the alternator is working correctly you should have >14V and >12.25V respectively.

Well that's OK then, because there is no chance of you having had a dodgy battery eh? Rolling Eyes

I had similar issues on mine, all the dials would sporadically jump to their max positions and everything would "dim" in and out. Turned out I had a faulty negative connection, followed by a dead battery Thumb Up

Fair enough, well I'd do as V9977 suggested, check your Earth strap and check your battery output (just remember when you check with the engine on that you should have it under load, all lights/blowers/stereo/etc on).
