Cheers but going to get old bracket scrubbed up and re-welded on. Alot cheaper than £50 box plus need it fixed by weekend. Cheers for the link. Will see if anywhere local has that

can you put a cage under the car like a normal 206 hatchback? |
Probably not. The CC has strengthening bars which attach to a box-like structure underneath the boot floor. That's exactly where the spare would need to go. |

new problem
for some reason the car on idle seems to act as if its "shivering" revs drop a bit then go back up for a few seconds then drop again...this is when the misses drives but ive noticed when i drive i like to use the rev band and it dont shiver on idle so its making be think that it shivers when the car is cold? (no pun intended)

The only way to find out is put it on a diagnostic system and see if it's recorded any faults. Not all put ethe engine mgmt light on.
It sound a bit like a coil pack starting to fail, but without checking you just start throwing money on parts which may or may not be the problem.
PS Did you get the exhaust bracket rewelded?
