my mother has a 1.1 206 and she was driving to work today and her aux belt snapped and lost it on the way home. now i do not have a haynes manual for the car.

so i was hoping i could get some pointers/tip or a diagram of which way the belt goes as i have nothing to go off.

any help would be appreciated and thank you in advance

Has it got air con?
If not there's a how to replace a cambelt guide i posted in the maintenance sub section, that should show you how to do it.

If it does its got an automatic tensioner that you use a 3/8" ratchet to hold the tensioner back against the spring while you remove the belt.

Cambelt and AUX belt are two TOTALLY different things

Very true probably should have said that you need to remove the aux belt before you can remove the cambelt. The guide shows how to remove the aux belt before advancing to removing the cambelt.

Genuine belt from a Peugeot / Citroen dealer, there cheap enough.

Need to either know the VIN number OR if the car has aircon fitted as there are a few choice of different length belts depending on the equipment fitted.

VIN number would be quickest & easiest.

Choice of 3 different length belts for the TU1 206 with aircon fitted.

Really need the VIN number to pinpoint the correct one.

All use a automatic sprung loaded tensioner.

In that case it should have a automatic/dynamic tensioner.

www.peugeot206cc.co.uk...-p00k3.htm

Item 3.3 is related to the tensioner. Basically insert 3/8" ratchet into the square hole (7) and turn to remove tension on the belt. Remove belt then hold the tensioner back again so no tension is on the belt as you put it on then release the tensioner.

Just remember the routing of the belt.
