Ah I remember last year. I only had one litre in and it all froze up and overheated on xmas morning. I wondered why the car only blew cold for a few weeks before it must have frozen inside the heater matrix.

Your lucky it didnt freeze the water pump & snap the cambelt when you go to start it.
Your also lucky it didnt push a core plug out the engine block or worse crack the engine block.

I don't think it was fully frozen I think some ice must have blocked it up. Drove it for 3 or 4 minutes and it was still cold, next minute it was 95 so I put my foot down to see what would happen and it shot up so I stopped and turned it off. Think this heat managed to melt the ice after 10 min or so of sitting there. I even too the oil cap off to help cool it while I was waiting and it smelt of burning pretty bad. Got off very lucky.
