Was wondering I'm looking for abit more power, I know it's a derv and won't get much but would a new panel filter change anything?
Second thing can you put any aftermarket exhaust on whether diesel or petrol? Sorry for being thick!
I couldn't find if this matter had been covered before, I know the panel filter has but want some more opinions on it?
Thanks
Tom

Not much point going for more power from the 1.4 HDI as the MA gearbox attached to it wont last long
Panel filter wont gain hardly anything, you could get it remapped.
Should have gone for the 2.0 HDI, much better & more tuneable.

After market exhaust on a diesel won't make it sound any louder ... different exhaust patterns and less noise.

The misses has a backbox on her 1.4 HDI. The only noticeable difference was a slightly lower tone on idle, nothing else really.
It looks alot better than the old bent down rusty looking pipe though!
The only issue we had was the backbox that went on (a Sportex from a 1.4 16v) was that it was longer than the original backbox. I had to chop off an 1" for it to sit nicely within the cut out?

Yes, shít gearbox that's horrible to drive with but i had a remap done nearly five years ago and still have the same clutch/box.
OP, not much power to be gained from a remap?? - you'll get 30-35% from a good map!
