ALL UK spec GTI's have an ultrasonic alarm as standard equipment.

They also have deadlocks.

Thatcham Cat 2 transponder immobiliser.

Big button on remote to lock it then small button to deadlock / set the alarm system for your non plexed 206.

Lock the car and smash the window. If you hear more than just breaking glass, it has an alarm, if you hear nothing either it doesn't have one or it's not working.

Right it does defo have an alarm as it's gone off twice now in ten minutes and no one is trying to break in.

Could this be because it's faulty or should I turn the sonic's off when it's windy as it's quite windy where it's parked.?

So if I turn off sonic's with the button by handbrake and arm the alarm will it not go off with wind movement and just if one of doors is opened?

I don't really want to test it without knowing as I've already p**sed off the neighbours twice tonight Wink

Door, boot or bonnet opened, ignition turned on, alarm siren disconnected or battery disconnected.

So does turning the sonic's off stop the alarm from going off by wind buffet?

Sorry to re ask the question but previous post didn't answer my concern.

Thankyou Smile

no all it does is disable the interior ultrasonics in the a-piller so you can leave a dog/children in the car, or like me leave the rear windows open when its backing outside.

the only way to stop it going off from wind buffet would be to as said completly remove the alarm. are you sure its the wind setting it off, and not someone trying to get you to turn it off so they can steal it.
