They really are though! Slow, uneconomical, high tax bracket and its a 206 so the insurance is through the roof!

I can get my 206 round corners quicker than people I know with better cars. I get 400 miles to a tank with a janspeed exhaust with sports cat, car tax is a lot lower in the IOM so that doesn't concern me, and I pay £500 fully comp for me (21) and my girlfriend (19).

If you hate them so much, why do you own one?

Well it's an xsi, a civic S-port 1.6 or a golf gttdi in black or red:) but I'm keeping my baby for another year until its passed down to my sister:)
Wait until you get yourself 2 years no claim then price be slightly better,or even better 3 years.
Out of those 3 i would say the civic sport 1.6 is better choice, more fun to drive and funny they are cheaper to insure than an XSI by huge margin.

I dont hate them, ive just owned one for 4 years and im talking from experience.

Tax is £205 per year which is ludicrous, frankly.

Im not taking about launching my car around corners either, im talking about real life situations where you need power and torque such as overtaking safely and speeding up on a motorway from 50-70 which again for a 1600 is pretty poor when you look at similar engined cars from the same period.

I have all of my mods declared, used for SDP with me and Georgie on the policy and its going to cost me £650 per year which again is a total joke because I can have an Audi S3 for £800 a year with the same conditions!!

I don't know if the car tax is done differently here, but in the IOM its by engine size. So all 1.6s cost the same to tax. Which this year I think was £127 for me.

I don't agree that the xs is slow to accelerate from 50-70mph or overtaking. It does it fast enough in my opinion, never had any issues with safety. But to be fair, I haven't really been in many other 1.6s apart from a saxo which is quicker due to it's weight.

At the end of the day its all opinion. I've had my 206 for about 2 and a half years and I'm still very happy with it. I don't intend upon replacing it until I can afford to run a car with around 300 bhp.

UPDATE

its been a while since i have done an update and quite a bit has been changed! ive removed all the red from the badge and then did it gloss black which when well with the masked headlights that i had..although the car went through MOT passed it all but my LHD headlights so i have my angels back with SMD sidelights and Philips Extreme Vision which has made an improvement but i am still after some GENUINE black masked Valeo headlights!!

I got some SP Interior Door handles for a Bargain of 1.09 on ebay!! here they are fitted, just after some Carbon surrounds now (any donations welcome .. Wink )

i fitted my Vibe Tweeters in my covers so drilled the holes and got them in makes such a difference and didnt even know.

i bought a Carbon centre console and side vents off IainLovett for a bargain of £55 (well i think it was anyway) and got that fitted, completely transformed my dash and it didnt stop there. from Shell-Vt i bought some mirror caps which i recieved and fitted instantly..i feel all Carbon Laughing

Ive put my PPT40 in tonight which looked brill and one thing i would say is that when using the scotchloks score the plastic wiring down to bare copper wire then lok the blade down as it didnt work first time!

Gave the car an epic clean too here is some whoring and a new sticker..

Thanks for looking, all C&C welcome Smile
