Hello everybody,

I need to bleed my clutch but I found the bleed screw is in bad shape (rounded and rusted). 9mm spanner slips on it, 8mm is too small, 10mm is too big. I atempted using pliers as well with no success (I get a good grip but the screw seems badly stuck).

I applied a good amount of WD40 with the hope of loosen it more easily but with no luck.

Does anyone have any suggestion before I consider replacing the clutch slave cylinder?

Below is a picture of the bleed scrw so you get a good idea of its condition.

Thank you in advance for you responses.

Michael

A good amount of heat from an oxy/acetaline torch would do the trick, the thread is still there somewhere! Sam

Hi,

Thanksā€¦ I would consider this but I'm not feeling too confident about it: the Haynes manual states the braking fluid might be flamableā€¦ Any risk?

As long as you don't use a blow torch, you'll be fine
