The car is a 206cc 2L, 2001 Pre-multiplex (if that is important) It has climate control.

The fan has been unreliable for a while, but today, it is stuck on at Max speed. None of the switches on the panel have any affect on the fan, the speed indiator shows the speed going up and down but the fan doesn't respond. I can vary the temp of the air comming out of the vents aswell.

I foolishly bought a Haynes manual, thinking it would show the wiring diagram, but that has been a complet waste of money!

Has anyone else had a similar fault or could anyone let me know where I can get a proper wiring diagram?

Kind Regards, Rich

Update: Heater fan fixed.

My Climate controlled 206cc heater fan ran only at full speed. I bought a second hand unit from ebay and fitted it last saturday. Now I have full control over the heater speed and i'm warm again.

The original problem was with the speed controller, which is screwed into the fan mounting. When I compared it with the new one, it registered a short circuit between the two large pins on the 5 pin socket. The heater controller is a potted unit, which cannot be repaired or bought on its own.

The fan went back into the car without problems, I was done in 45mins.

By the way, Peugeot want £200 for a new unit!

Regards, Rich
