Sounds like a com2000 fault to me.
Worth popping the airbag of & seeing if both plugs are in correctly.

Can I removed the airbag off the steering wheel without having to disconnect the plug into the module under the ash tray as stated in the. Haynes manual,as that will be a ball ache if got to remove centre console.

the tried and trusted way is to shut down the BSI (search for procedure), disconnect battery, wait a few minutes (i leave about 10 minutes) for the system to discharge completely, then start prying off the airbag.

After taking the steering cowl off again and cleaning all connections, aswell as airbag ones also, still the light stays on,tried a bsi reset,no joy.
I did notice this cable tie on the com unit, why?

we have owned the car from new and not had it repaired before,or is this on all of them.....
Is the fault code description i posted, only relate to drivers airbag and com unit,if so do you think its the com unit, thanks again peeps this site has been really helpfull to me so far.
