Hello,

I managed to get my dash LCD ribbon cable disconnected from the dash motherboard. It doesn't have any connector to reconnect it back. I tried sticking it back with a piece of tape, but the LCD won't work without me pressing it really hard. Is there an easy way to reconnect the ribbon cable ?

Tnx

If your talking about the lcd that shows the mileage I dont think it can be stuck back. Mine did this and I had to get another set of clocks.

I took a set of clocks out and both ribbons just fell out when I opened them up. They worked when I put them back in.

i tried sticking mine but had no joy, dont solder it as its plastic so will melt.
the early 206 clocks to me are abit of a poor design, ive had two sets of clocks now one set the rev counter had packed up and the other the lcd ribbon had come off.
got a set now that work ok. i believe the multi-plex clocks are pretty good but wont fit the early 206s.

As Rick says, heat will melt the plastic carrier film.

Maybe conductive glue, a very small dab on each conductor, tape to fix in place - probably one piece a bit 'up-stream' to fix it in place and secure placement before adding the glue to prevent smearing, then lift end slightly to apply glue and then add another piece of tape to hold the end down while curing.

Haven't tried it myself, but I believe it could work (as long as one has reasonable access to the spot)
