Right then guys this might seem normal to most owners of 2.0 HDi's but for me im not entirely satisfied in terms of performance, I'm sure some of you may shed some light on this but here goes...
So as I'm new to Diesels and Peugeots in general I've not really had a benchmark in terms of performance for me to relate to. My problem is that although my 206 is quite pokey, it seems to lose most its power just before hitting 70mph. Lets say I have a nice flat straight road, I pull off quite nicely rev only up to 3.5k through all the gears when it comes to 70, its almost as if i have no power, I mean it slowly increases speed but not greatly (no problem when im going down a hill). Is this normal for this engine? I ask this because I honestly though a 2.0 Hdi would be slightly better than this, i get that its quite not a GTi but I'm not convinced i have all my engine power?
Any ideas would be great!
Cheers

Mine will still pull at speeds alot higher than that.
What gear are you in at 70?
When did it last have a service?

I had a service done last week, they did mention that there was a performance issue when i removed the egr pipe, which i agree it didnt really do me much so i whacked th pipe back on. I had a noticeable peak in performance but im thinking because you guys still have pull beyond 70, i think something might be wrong! They also put it on a diagnostics tablet but this showed no issues with the car. Now just yesterday I had an Antipollution Fault show, this morning however I have no such fault! WTF!

Standard one dude, I've not changed anything under the bonnet. Well apart from a new battery.

Im not entirely sure to be honest, but i know this problem has been going a little after i bought it. I figured it just may have needed a service and new cambelt kit but its still here!

Have a look at the filter and personally I would change it to a pannel filter from K'n'N.
Was it a full service as in major like having everything changed?

mine pulls quite nicely start at the beginning check the filter, then check the intake piping, you are looking for blockages of kinks, have you checked your fuel filter? is there any crap in the sediment pot?, if you take the particulate filter off and put a straight pipe on insted you'll noice a increase in performance and responsiveness (not sure what the new MOT rules are on this tho) a remap will up your performance and MPG too
