hi everyone

im new to the forum

i kinda need advice, from more experienced pug drivers out there!!!!

ive got a problem with the g/f 206 cc 56plate

few weeks ago it showed up the abs light...... so plug my mates launch 431 into it, ... o/s/f abs sensor fault.
checked the live data on it........ all other sensors showing speed reading in line with the speedo head apart from the o/s/f showing 675mph Shocked Confused
so get a new sensor and fitted it, went to reset the light week later, fault code still there and light still illuminated Confused
so i tries my multimeter in the sensor through ac voltage but the multimeter let me down as to showing no voltage increase / decrease and even compared it to the n/s/f but no reading from my meter Confused

so 1 week later g/f tells me her speedo head isnt working and its now showing anti pollution fault, airbag fault, handbrake fault, so i plug in launch..... its now showing p0501 vehicle speed sensor a range/performance, p0040 remote intermittant vehicle speed, p0a50 supply voltage Confused
ive removed the new sensor/ and sent back under warranty in exchange for a new one which should be shortly Smile

i feel i should be able to deal with this Embarassed as ive been in the trade on the tools for over 10 year n more, my experience is jap and german, but little french, ive seen advice on this bsi reset to which im thinking of but will it really prove anything .

any and all advice welcome Smile

hey how ya doing

hey lads

ive checked the abs ring, no cracks or teeth missing.

doesnt have HID

does a abs sensor not create its own current/signal ?
thus the voltage switching on and off. analog into digital
ive done this test with using a decent fluke meter on a hyundai getz in my old job

anymore suggestions welcome : )

hi crocdino

regards to the live data, my mates launch was showing all other sensors working with the speedo head apart from the o/s/f to which that was showing the reading of 637mph!!! that i havent experienced before, but a week later the speedo head had chucked it! my mate suggested that his saab 93 abs sensor ran the speedo head on his car(what sensor on what side), he never really went into detail about it, but i kinda see he was maybe relating both together, but at to this present time that the engine management light came on now showing VSS fault code p0501& airbag light!!, i returned to his lockup to try launch again, i could access the engine management side to put out the light for the VSS but it came back on , but the launch was having no communication with the abs.

1. do spurious electrical parts for peugeot not really go hand in hand? my father works for them and
did say they dont really have complaints regards to using them.

2. my mates launch, he doesnt have the cables at hand to check the wave pattern direct with the abs sensor we fitted, and my voltmeter is crap.

3. i had a quick look around and under the gearbox for the speedo drive transducer but couldn't see it unless i've did it to quick, cause i drove the vehicle with my little code reader on live data and there was to reading from live data regards to vehicle speed.

4. i thinking it might be faulty new sensor as a guess so ive returned it for a new one in return so i should be fitting it this week weather permiting.

5. even when i fitted the new abs sensor, it was showing 0mph on live data while the other sensors showed readings in conjunction with the .... then at the time working speedo head.

all replys will be a big help to me.
thanks : )

Dont bother looking as it hasnt got one, speedo is linked to the ABS system.

Lock it with remote, unlock it with remote & try again.

If after a few trys it still wont play ball then reboot the BSI unit.

Sounds like a BSI software bug Wink
