hello,

no idea if this is meant to happen or its telling me there's a problem

when i start the car the oil temp dial shoots up and red and yellow lights up with it

after about 5-10 seconds it drops down to original position

also take ages for oil temp to get up to 90c temperature

is this just doing a oil check or a warning? car appears to be running fine

It's not a 'pre-check' as such... have you not noticed that when you do that ALL the lights come on... it's normal.
