That's where you've got it wrong! faster round the track doesn't appeal to me, more fun round the track does!
If I wanted to be the fastest I wouldn't have the 206! Anyway I like turning up at the track as the underdog and handing it to the guys that take it far too serious! Role on Sunday!

I dont mean make it the fastest, just faster!
I do it for the pure fun factor, its become a hobby for me now. Making the car round track faster is included in there for me. Like you said to hand it to those who come thinking there the daddy on track

If I start making it faster I'll have to make it the fastest, and I'm not starting that game!

there's not much in the way of surface water about but they seem fine. I wouldn't however use them when there was standing water. I can imagine them lifting pretty easily! Hence why I will be taking plenty of spare road tyres.

Trackday completed without too much drama. HOWEVER..... It's developed an intermittent sticky tappet/lifter. When I came in from each run it would sound like an old 1.3 ford engine but if i left it to cool, or held it at about 1500rpm for 10 secs or so it would sort itself out. So i'm thinking, oil starvation??? I was thinking oil starvation but surely this would correct itself when the car stops cornering?!?
Other than the ticking, and the fact the brakes were brand new and needed bedding, all was well. Some fantastic cars there ( will load pics later).

Original factory fitted tappets OR have they been replaced with the modified ones?

If it was oil starvation your engine will be knackered and it wouldn't fix itself.

No idea. Auction special so no history. Its not been an issue for 6000 miles and half a dozen trackdays. Since the last trackday, which was at Blyton and was roughly the temperature also, it's had the oil and filter changed like for like so i'm struggling to work it out.

I spoke to a couple of bmw owners and they said it was normal for their engines to do it. I had a mx-5 that did it years ago but that was brcause the oil filter was about 5 years old. May invest in a decent oil filter and see if that makes a difference....

No idea of the brand but it it isn't psd, its the same as before but the quality assurance could be a bit dubious.... I think a KnN one will be ordered tomorrow.
The filter could well be the problem as it only rattles on track. Drove it home and its completely normal, no noise no drama
