just tried replacing these trailing arm bearings but failed . got them in the trailing arm no probs 5 mins . but getting the arm back on was a diff matter , couldnt get it all the way in about an inch left i think it had something to do with the red bars that attach to both ends { are they anti roll bars ? } tried and tried but in the end the new bearings collapsed . is there a proper or easier way to do it , got to buy another bearing nkoe ,, bugger .

You should completely remove the red torsion bars when putting the arms back on the tube.

If its the anti roll bar, thats inside the axle tube. The red bars are more than likely the torsion bars. On all the bars you need to match up the spines in order to get the opposite side on. Did you take measurements before you took it all apart? Also the new bearings will need greasing. If the bearings have been shot for a while it will also more than likely scored the axle tubee.
Dont take this the wrong way, but do you know what your doing? Have you got a guide?

Forgot to mention this. If its bad then you might as well not bother replacing the arms.

yes i did take measurements before stripping & greased bearings , only 1 side of torion bar comes loose other side is solid . and no i havent got a guide ?? does the torsion bar come off both ends ??? if so i will try and knock it harder .

so do i just knock as hard as i can to get the torsion bar off or can i refit without taking it off, although i failed first time . i have another axle as well but that seems stuck as well ???
i am not completely twp but past half way .
any help or suggestions will help but probably go in 1 year & out the other .. only kidding

They only knock out one direction. Follow the guide, should be of help.

When I did mine on thur, drivers rear, the torsion bar was jammed solid that side. In the end it cam out the passenger side so the torsion bar was still attached to the trail arm.
You will get the arm on so far, then it's a case of moving the arm up and down to engage the correct splice for the torsion bar. Once it's engaged after a few taps measure. If it too low or high reverse the direction to disengage and put it on another spline. If not you will lower or raise that side.

torsion stuck solid on mine too , tried reinserting with it on but no joy and knackered my new bearings i put in . if i bugger the next lot up i wont be a happy bunny . wish i went to a garage now. ps. those links dont work for me . ??

which way should i be hitting the torsion bar [ driverside stuck } hitting from outside in / inside out ?/ passenger side was outside in . do you know what i mean ??
