I noticed it was getting smoother as you pulled the inside handle but it still worked. When you try and release the door with the inside door handle now it feels like there is nothing there. Can anyone give me any advice before i start striping it down? the outside door handle opens it perfectly fine still.

The rod has probably come off. Just reconnect.
