what is this part and what does it do?? i was changing my discs on my gti and this was cracked.

 


this is where it came from

 


a quick respones is needed as it needs fixing asap. cheers!!

Its an ABS ring from the driveshaft.

Yes BUT the ABS system wont work & it will fail the MOT.

You can get a new ABS ring & get it fitted OR replace the complete drive shaft.

Cracked ABS rings are a common 206 GTI problem Wink

That depends on your skills & tools.

You need to remove the driveshaft from the hub to get the new ABS ring fitted on.

A new ABS ring is pretty cheap, someone did post a link before on here to a supplier.

If your handy with the spanners then its a pretty cheap fix.
