Who's out in the sun then, i'm trying to get a few things done, and while changing the gearbox oil was one of the things i wanted to do i've had to give up. It seems the drain and fill plugs on mine are square sockets and i don't have one .... I could improvise with some key steel but that could end up messy.

I could go and buy the proper socket but it seems the oil i've got from Peugeot doesn't have the filling spouts on it and i don't want to open them just incase, so even if i did get the oil out I couldn't get it back in .....

Looks like a trip to the local mechanic is in order, it'll only cost £15 and while i don't mind paying i like the satisfaction of doing things myself.

Also on todays list,

change fuel filter
inflate spare tyre - but adjust towbar first
Reseal back box and modify Smile
Swap Steering wheel over.

206 1.4 LX ... its called Vera and is built for abuse, but needs a few things, including hoovering out

I had three jobs to do today, clean the car which went off fine and she's shining for the first time in 2 month, and the other two jobs were remove my bumpers for colour coding the bumpstrips and fitting my alloys. Went to fit my alloys to find the garage who did my head gasket and cambelt have well and truly overtightened my drivers side front wheel... so much so that it cracked my socket on the wheel brace trying to remove it so it looks like the old girl is going to be in the garage to get them to get them off cause after 1 bent (peugeot one), and a cracked socket they haven't budged at all in fact the cars moved move more than the bolts on the wheel have.. the HDi is due an oil change tomorrow, including the filter.

probably also swap front and rear wheels over.

then it's trying to track down a "clonk" .. it's only at low speed and could be the upper shock mounts ...

Plus I've got to swap out both dipped beams on the Alfa .... and finish lacquering the two repaired 206CC alloys.

Might be finished by midnight! Wink

Down to just the 1.4 HDi. Cayman Green 2.0i CC sold.
