206 HDI not starting, 2005 models
If your 206 has been harder to start or sometimes will not start without priming, even though there is plenty of fuel in it and it ran fine the day before, then check the fuel line under the air filter.
Remove the air filter box and unclip the fuel line from the fuel distributer on the right hand side.
If you then gently pull it up you might see a tear drop shape wear mark about an inch from the right angle bend on the left hand side where it’s been rubbing on the engine.
I used a blob of araldite and self amalgamating tape over it.
Prime the fuel again after refitting all...this can take time. Dependant on how much fuel there is in the car

Ive just had this exact same problem on a 53 reg 1.4 hdi!

The car cut out the day before a service and they diagnosed the fuel vacuum pipe rubbing on the airbox as you said, but wanted to replace the whole pipeline inckuding priming bulb etc! Currently have self amalgamating tape sealing the hole, but am going to attempt to make my own vacuum line mod using some Festo air lines and push fittings! Very poor design by Peugeot there, especially where the sharp angled edge of the airbox touches the pipe and cuts through! Too tight a fit!

This has always been a problem. My first 309d had split fuel lines causing air to get in. I wonder if its caused by the vibration of the diesel engines, as well as poor design!

Does it not leak fuel if this is the case? My mechanic is adamant that there is no leak on mine, yet the problem is going on....and on.......I believe there MUST be a small hole somewhere.
