Hi,

Having a few problems with my Peugeot 206 1.4 GLX 02 Reg again where the EML is on. I have plugged a code reader in and have the P0300 code showing.

I have looked around Google and it seems to point to the coil pack needing replacing which I will probably do as well as the spark plugs but could someone tell me the best make to buy?? Different people seem to have varying opinions but I would value yours on this forum.

Thanks

P.S Going to take current coil pack off if I need to to see if it is the dreaded Sagem pack or if I have NGK plugs!!!

Ha, I'm in the same boat. The bougicord ones get recommended, but I can't find any reason why - nor can I find anywhere that stocks them!

Peugeot themselves recommend valeo (sp?) and from various motorfactors I've had lots of other different brands mentioned, not one seems to have even heard of the bougicord coilpacks.

Am off today to go buy one now, may as well get the OEM one that Peugeot recommend. GSF sell it for about £78 +VAT (peugeot want £20 more).

it's not like you can choose what coil pack to fit, there is 2 brands for the coil pack, you have to fit the same as yours, because the ECU would work on that one,and might not work if you fitted the other.

But I woul say to take a look at the spark plugs first, because sometimes they cause you the EML on,they make the coil pack go faulty.

You can fit the correct coil pack for your engine - but there can be several manufacturers who all make it, hence the choice in which one to get.

Sagem ones were originally used, now I think Peugeot are using valeo. Everyone on this forum recommends the bougicord ones and from asking different motor factors they stock other different brands.

What engine was it for? Maybe it's just the 1.6 they don't make it for as i tried two local gsf branches and the national mail order number.

Hi,

I am looking at buying a coil pack off a seller on ebay but I asked them the manufacturer name as obviously I do not want to get a sagem one and they have replied that they have bought it from Peugeot directly but it does not have a name on it. Surely it must be on there somewhere???

Yes it will be. Tell them to look closer, if they are sketchy with details buy elsewhere.

Can anyone tell me what make of coilpack this is. The seller can only tell me that it says g09 on it and it is for a Peugeot 1.1/1.4 8v.

Would appreciate your help.
