NIGHTMARE!
when i began the task of dropping my car i was told that the T40 Torx screws was the hellish task but ? the washers behind the Torx Bolts are 10000X worse ... iv managed to rip 2 of the 4 out but the last 2 are impossible iv had a lump hammer and snapped 3 screwdrivers trying to wack them free but they dont budge :'( there currently soaking in some ZX54 Rush Eater hoping that this loosens them up

Put the screw back in and tap the torsion bar away from the washer. The bar can be tight against the washer preventing it from being moved. Only problem is if the bar is seized you'll struggle to move it away from the washer.

Put the screws back in firmly. Hit them instead of the end of the bar. Cheaper to replace some squashed screws than dented torsion bars.

Just buy some new ones. Better to put new ones in with copper grease on than reuse the old ones.

I chisel can easily remove battered TB bolts.

Quite simply they get inserted through the trailing arm...so they come out that way too.

the arm that the bars go into.

jack them up a tiny bit also take a bit of pressure off the splines. i also found that racket strapping them together stopped any movement and meant all force went into the bar moving.

the top one you hit from the drivers side iirc its the opposite to the bottom anyways

get new washer and torxs its about 8 quid and a must really.

They go in through the trailing arm - the arm the wheel is attached to.

When knocking the torsion bars out you need to make sure you aren't just pushing the arms off the tube. So the arm needs holding in place maybe with some timber between it and a wall.
