I had an issue with reception on my kenwood HU when it was fitted and couldn't get any AM reception at all. Took the radio out, took the aerial cable out and had a look, it was a bit loose in its housing. used a bit of insulation tape to make it more rigid and put it back in and back in the dash, works well now! Also it can sometimes come off as you put the radio back in depending on the room behind it.

I bought an aerial booster which worked a treat. just plugs inbetween the aerial on the hadunit and you insert the clip into the iso block where there is a 12v ignition feed.

AM is still used as an alternative for BBC Lancashire when they are covering 3 games at once. Plus Talk Sport and 5Live are always listened to at the weekend.
