Soo my alternator on my 1.1 petrol pug is dead Sad just wondering if anyone had any ideas of how to replace one? I've got a rough idea, but was just looking for some more information Smile all answers appreciated Very Happy

Remove the belt, unbolt power cable, unclip other plug. Remove 4 bolts, alternator falls off, refitting is the reverse of removal, bobs your uncle

Sounds pretty simple that! Tbh i bottled it after hearing you had to move the power steering pump out the way, left it with a mate for the day seens he knows what he's doing Razz

You dont have to but it makes it easier and the pumps even easier to remove than the alternator.

Disconnect the battery before undoing the alternator cables.

Yeaa rather not blow something or myself up! Well the replacemt alternator is on, running okay but battery light coming on dim when car is revved? Guy says all the readings are fine but doesnt know what's causing the problem :/ have to get the multi meters on i when I finish work -.-
