Hi Guys

Looking into getting my car services and a new cambelt. Car is on 48k miles and 2005

Have seen that a cambelt needs doing every 72k miles or every 8 years but want one doing within the next few months for piece of mind.

Been quoted £250+VAT for a decent cambelt fitted and not sure whether I should get it serviced at the same garage or by Peugeot. What price should I be looking at for Peugeot or general garage?

Thanks

not difficult to do a service yourself. Air filter, oil and oil filter (cabin filter if you want) and spark plugs aren't difficult jobs there's guides on here you can save yourself loads of money.

I can do the service put with having full service history I'm going to continue it to try keep the value of the car Laughing

Just need fill my two holes in the seats and get a clip on the air vent and will be near enough perfect. I'm getting the cambelt done by my usual machanic as I know he will be half the price of peugeot.

Cambelts for gtis cost up to £350 roughly so you have a decent quote there for 250. I think i paid 300 inc VAT.

Get it sorted! my brothers timing belt has just snapped!! Not good!

I can get you the cambelt kit for about £100 gates. You should also change the water pump with the cambelt. Can also get you service parts at trade price.

I would charge you £40 to do the service. ( not including parts).

For your cambelt and water pump fitting use these www.car-service-manchester.co.uk/ they did my 180 and did a perfect job tell them you want a cash in hand job and they will do it cheap for you.

But get your parts off me if you get them to do it I can get them cheaper than they can from the same company.

Ouch Shocked

I had a check on my invoice and the cam belt turned out to be £250. The other £100 was for a service and a door seal.

Where did you read that?

IIRC it's 60k or every 3 yrs whatever comes first?

Not sure on service but I paid £360 for Cambelt, water pump a new starter motor and fitting. But...my mate is a mechanic.
