Do you have an upgraded alarm? this could take alot of power from the battery

My friend in the office drives an impreza with an upgraded alarm, he had to turn his imobilizer off because he would only use the car at weekends etc, but the battery would be dead if not drove from time to time, he just kept his alarm off, done the trick

How long does it take to go flat?

And how old is the battery? On the VX, despite it hardly having anything that could even drain the battery, it would go flat overnight. Replaced it and now it lasts several weeks before it needs a jump/bump start.

Sounds like mine.

The old one was about 2 years old, but it got changed 4 days ago, andf it went flat the first night.

Really?

Funny, my car did originally have a bosche branded battery in it when I first got it.

I a few people have said certain brands of battery are recommended for 206's.

Thanks for all your help, I'll try getting another battery, I should get my money back for this one right?

Problem solved for me, under the ecu there is what i deem to be a relay/control box, this had its fixing lug broke which had left a hole in the casing allowing moisture to enter, infact a few drops of brown water fell out along with some rust!! Out test meter was reading silly numbers like 7.5, when we disconnected this box the numbers fell to a steady 0.36. This black relay/control box has 15 pins and has the number 240107 and the name BITRON or thats what my tired old eyes seem to see. Any one know the name of this bit of equipment and is the number the part number? I'm assuming it controls the fuel pump 'cause it was running all the time, i would also assume it is ignition related.
