Hi...
My Daughter is looking to buy a 3door ,1.4 206 hatch....probably a vehicle
registered between 2004 & 2006...her main requirements are...
..........Fuel Economy...so Peterol or Diesel?....HDI or Other?
..........Low Tax & Insurance... so probably a 1.4 cc ?
..........Reliability..she drives approx 12,000ml a year
So what would be your suggestions or recommendations ,what could
she expect with fuel consumption on her 35 ml daily trip to work ??
We really hope you can give us some first hand info from your own
experiences........Thanks in advance.....Rustler31..

i would have to say get a 1.1 insurance group 3 as if you went for a diesel you would have to get a 2.0 and the insurance group on that would be high!
on a 1.1Tax is about 140 a year! and there good solid reliable engines!

Get the 2.0HDi, insurance group 5 in the UK, £115 tax for the year in the UK. Or get the 2.0HDi eco which is £35 tax

I had a 206 1.4hdi LX as a first car (53reg) - that was very cheap to run and never let me down. Very cheap tax on that too, and MPG was always hovering around the 55mpg mark. Still have the car (sister's now), and it's running sweetly on over 75,000 miles.
Now have a 1.6hdi, which has had a few problems, so would advise against this.

....Thanks Guys...
Is there any known probs with the 1.4 hdi engine ? as it seems that this engine in certain models only requires a
tax of £30 pa...and is also in a very low insurane group. (Think its group 4).... As ADAM states above also returns
a reasonable 55mpg.....
