Just a quick question, what amp and volts should my alternator be running.
It's a 1.4hdi and I'm only getting 12v and 26amp with the engine running?
Think my alternator is beggered
Thanks

Should be getting over 14V with the engine running.

Indeed it is if you're getting only 12V.
However that should be with a known-good digital multimeter.
Amps will depend on what is switched-on at the time (headlights, charging, ECU's etc)

I just bought a brand new one, and then also required the earth looms, getting some problems from corroded terminals. All good now thanks, running at 14.6v ![Very Happy Very Happy](images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif)
