After trying everything I finally took the car to the garage, apparantly its the fuel pump. They wanted 220 to fit a new one but GSF only want 82 including VAT so I will attempt it myself.
It seems easy from the Haynes manual, just wondering if anyone had any tips that has done it before.

1 tip i can give you is dont take it to peugeot to get it done cost us £500

I thought 220 was a bit steep, it was bad enough I paid £30 for 4 injector seals which were just O rings.

Fuel pumps are a piece of cake, took me about 10 minuites to get the one out of my mates GTI, that was including taking the rivets out of the panel over it. Only thing that gives grief is the seal around it.

It was not there, just the plastic cover. Probably been done before.

It took a 30years+ technician using a special wide flat ended screwdriver/chisel type tool but blunt and big so not to cut into the plastic that was about 22inches long and a large powder shot hammer and his expertise and sheer determination and about 30mins non stop to remove the big black ring that is threaded on the top of a fuel tank holdin a fuel pump,so its a b***h unless u get an easy one?i cant even get the ring nut back on having replaced the o ring(which is recommended to do every time)and fit a new black threaded ring(too much damage gettin it off to go back)ive had to settle for a half crossed half a turn that seems tight enough and a very slight leak(which was my problem to begin with)but now when the car is running the fuel pump runs non stop but i cant remember if it did before?so if u can help please do?(also the new o ring and big black threaded nut are available from peugeot and i paid £3.50p for each part so seven quid-cheap enuf just a nightmare job to do).

The pump runs non stop when the engine is running.

I've never seen the metal plate actually installed from the factory, so I doubt yours has been replaced before.
